A new format this year spreading the eight programmes over 8 weeks. Simon visits Svalbard in the high arctic to see Barnacle Geese start their migration to the UK.

Springwatch - Close Encounters

One off 60 minute pre-recorded programme. Simon reveals some of the tricks of the trade that enable him to get ‘up close and personal’ with the UK’s wildlife. He also shares some of his favourite encounters with wild creatures and show us how to get a closer look at wild otters.

2008

Big Cat Live

8, 30 to 60 minute live programmes. A twist on Big Cat Diary showing live footage from the Masai Mara, using cutting edge infrared and thermal imaging cameras to show animal behaviour that has never been seen before, especially on live TV.

Autumnwatch

8, 60 minute live programmes. In week one Simon visits Petworth House in West Sussex for the Fallow deer rut then moves to Birmingham's urban jungle to see muntjac deer.
In week 2 Simon travels to Anglesey to watch Ravens and finishes with a dive off the Dorset coast to film conger eels.

Springwatch Spectacular

One off 60 minute pre-recorded programme. Simon shows us some of the spectacular wildlife that can be found within the British Isles.

8, 60 minute live programmes. Simon moved around Britain reporting on Wild Boar in the Forest of Dean, Starlings in Somerset, Bats in Lancashire and Grey Seal Pups on the Farne Islands.

First Series of 12, 60 minute live programmes. Simon travelled between three different locations, Mull for Sea Eagle, the London Wetland Centre and Inner Farne for a mixture of nesting birds.

2nd Series. 5, 30 minute pre-recorded programmes. Each programme follows the daily activities of the animals on the Masai Mara.

2004

Cheetahs; Fast Track To Freedom

One off 50 minute pre-recorded programme. Simon helped raise two orphaned Cheetahs, Toki and Sambu. From just a couple of months old we follow their story till they become fully grown adults. The film finishes with a dramatic and moving twist as one of the Cheetahs is killed by Lions.

Britain Goes Wild

12, 60 minute live programmes. Simon was based on the Bass Rock, looking at a Peregrine nest in a Midlands quarry, and finally at the London Wetland Centre.

1 off pre-recorded programme. Simon got very close to a family of Meerkats so that they accept him as part of their environment. The star of the show being 'Little Arnie'.
